ABOUT ME

Hello there!
I'm Francesca, a junior level designer from Italy who loves turning stories into spaces to explore and get lost in.
I've been playing videogames for as long as I can remember — starting with a cousin-hand-me-down PlayStation 2, where I spent a lot of time playing Donald Duck PK.
But I guess I discovered my true passion playing The Last of Us on PS3, which I finished over 15 times – not joking. A few months later I bought Far Cry 3, a game that made me so obsessed I learned Vaas's "definition of insanity" monologue by heart – and yes, I still remember it.
I think my first actual attempt at game design came at 15 when I grabbed a notebook and started designing The Sims 5 – complete with expansion packs and gameplay systems.
Growing up, video games were always a big part of my life, but I didn't see them as a possible career yet. So I went to university although my mind was always on games – I tried to make every project about them and even my thesis was about the most impactful ad campaigns in gaming.
Even during university, I often wondered what would come next. I’m definitely a night owl — now, I’d almost be drifting off to sleep when a cool level design idea would pop into my head and I’d have to sketch it out. But back then, It was during one of those late-night creativity sessions that I randomly discovered Digital Bros Game Academy.
A few months later, I was attending a game design course and finding my true calling in level design. Looking back, I realized I had actually been noticing level design for years—just by playing my favorite games (some of them even more than 15 times and yes, it’s a habit).
Right now, I live in Milan, I have just finished the academy course, and I’m excited to jump into the professional world. I’m open to wherever the job takes me, hoping to turn this passion into a real career.
